The International Society of Digital Health is proposed as an interdisciplinary research society, proposed to be registered as non-government, not for profit organisation in Hong Kong. The group commenced as a body of academics sharing similar research interests but it is anticipated that the scope and remit of the society will be broader with links to medical students and industry. A mission statement and unique selling point (USP) should be drawn up. It should differ in scope from examples including American Medical Informatics , MedInfo (international), Australian Digital Health Agency.
Different models of society were discussed including a subscription-funded model and symposium-funded model.
It is anticipated that the society will spawn Special Interest Groups (SIGs) in areas that are yet to be confirmed.
